Hello beautiful people!
It's Wednesday here at Becoming Britiany, and if you don't know what that means you're one of the lucky few. It's really just the day I take to update everyone on the things happening in my life.
This past month (yes it's been like a month since my last update if not more!) has mostly consisted of work, work, and more work. I am not complaining a bit, though, because I LOVE what I am doing. When you love what you do, you don't mind the extra work of course. It's always when your job is lame, difficult, unrewarding, or frustrating that you hate working so much!
Plus, hard work pays off! My manager recently transferred to a new store, so I applied for his position. I am now in a month long trial period to see if my district manager and myself feel I should keep the position of general manager. I am thrilled! I knew when I started I would want to move up the chain at some point. I didn't know it would be so soon, but I am so happy about it! I am praying this next month goes great and she can see my potential.
As for working at the mall, man I did not know how much harder it would be not to spend all my money! There's a Torrid like 7 shops down. Enough said. But, I am adjusting, packing my lunch, etc. So far so good, I think. We will see how long I last before someone sits me down and gives me an intervention. I am about 7 novelty shirts deep right now, so I say 3 more and my family will sit in a circle in the living room waiting for me to come home and "just talk". *lol*
Another amazing thing I did was Pride on June 2nd! I will be doing a whole separate blog to go into detail, with pictures included, but for now I just wanted to say it was an amazing experience! I saw straight, bi, gay, lesbian, non-binary, trans, etc. couples at pride. Everyone was together celebrating the freedom to love whoever you choose to love. The Queens and MC's were welcoming of everyone, including a little girl who danced along to a song like the queen she is! I will go more into detail with that in my blog as well! It brought tears to my eyes.
Not much else to update everyone on. I got fitted for a bra, and my life has changed because of it. I got new piercings, but I think I have kept everyone up to date on that. I've read a lot of poetry, listened to a lot of music, and hung out with Chris a lot. That's pretty much been my life for the last month or two. I am cool with it, but it doesn't leave much to share with the masses. Still laughing, because that's what we need to do to survive. Keep laughing. No matter what life throws at you, find the positive. I have been slowly learning the subtle art of not giving a f***, and it's changing the way I look and worry about things. Good changes for me!
Well, that's it for now. This isn't a formal blog, so I will leave simply by saying: if you feel down and need a laugh, you know where to find me. Don't be a stranger. Save your own damn self; don't wait for someone to come along and do the work for you. Both great pieces of advice I have learned from others and want to pass down to you!
Let me know what's new and exciting in your life below or on Facebook!
